Pharmacy

The Pharmacy fills prescriptions from Student Health Center and outside physicians.

Two full-time pharmacists and one part-time pharmacist provide individual counseling for students with minimum wait time.

Payment: There are charges for all items purchased in the Pharmacy. Purchases can be paid for at the SHC Cashiers' Desk by cash, check, TigerCard, Visa, MasterCard or charged to a student's fee bill.

Prescriptions from outside physicians or transferred from your current pharmacy to the Student Health Center will be filled at no additional charge. Doctors can fax prescriptions to the pharmacy at 225/578-7684.

Drug Formulary: Prescription drugs we carry are determined by the Student Health Center medical staff. If we do not have an item you want, please talk to one of our pharmacists.

Non-prescription (over-the-counter) medications are available for sale, such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, cough and cold products and vitamins.

Insurance: The cost of your prescription may be reimbursable through your insurance company. The cost of non-prescription medications are not reimbursable by insurance companies. Please see the Insurance page of this site for details.

Those eligible to the use the Pharmacy:

Students and spouses who have paid the Student Heath Center fee or the per-visit fee.
Faculty and staff who either require medications for LSU sponsored travel or have a prescription from one of our physicians for an approved workers compensation injury.

Summers: We will fill prescriptions of full-time summer students. In addition, we will fill prescriptions from following even if they had not paid the SHC summer fee or the per visit fee: summer part-time students, student spouses, and students who are not enrolled in the Summer semester, but have completed the previous Spring semester and have classes scheduled for the Fall semester.

Refills after Graduation: We can not refill prescriptions after you have graduated from LSU. Your graduation day is the last day we will refill your prescriptions.
